PRIVACY NOTICE
The Queensland Filipino Excellence Awards (“the Awards”) is collecting personal information from
the nomination form for the purpose of administering the Awards 2023. The Awards will provide this
information to the judging panel, which may include members external to the Awards’ judging panel,
for the purpose of assessing award nominations. Award winners will have their personal information
published in Philippine Consulate Queensland or in the Philippine Embassy in Australia Queensland
publications and websites unless you inform the Awards you do not wish your information to be
made public. Personal information will be managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cwth)

NOMINATION CATEGORIES
Category 1: Excellence Awards in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics)

To recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) that include the significance and potential impact of the research or innovation, quality and originality, methodological rigor, communication, potential for practical applications, collaboration and interdisciplinary work, impact on education and training, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and ethical conduct. Nominees will be evaluated for their significant contribution to their field, demonstrated methodological rigor and originality, effectively communicated their research or innovation, and has a strong potential for practical applications or further development, among other qualities.
Category 2: Excellence Awards in Business, Industry & Commerce

To recognise individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, proven impact on the industry or marketplace, effective management, creativity and innovation in business practices, corporate social responsibility, collaboration and partnership building, strong financial and market performance, and a sustained and significant contribution to the industry over a period of at least five years. Nominees will be evaluated for demonstrating their highest standards of business leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and be a role model for future generations of business leaders.
Category 3: Excellence Awards in Arts, Culture, Sports and Entertainment

To recognise individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the artistic, cultural or sporting field, proven impact on the sector, creativity and innovation, effective communication and engagement with audiences, sustained and significant contribution to the sector over at least five years, collaboration and partnership building, positive impact on society, and ethical conduct. Nominees will be evaluated for their service as a role model for excellence in their field, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and a positive impact on society, while exhibiting ethical conduct and serving as a role model for future generations of artists, cultural professionals, and sportspeople.
Category 4: Excellence Awards in Community Service

To recognise individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to community service, proven impact on the community, creativity and innovation in community service practices, effective communication and engagement with community members and stakeholders, sustained and significant contribution to the community over at least five years, collaboration and partnership building, positive impact on society, and ethical conduct. Nominees will be evaluated as a role model for excellence in community service, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and a positive impact on the community, while exhibiting ethical conduct and promoting social justice, equity, and inclusion.
Category 5: Young Leader of the Year (Excellence Awards in Youth Leadership)

To recognise young leaders who have demonstrated leadership skills, proven impact on their field, creativity and innovation in leadership practices, effective communication and engagement with stakeholders, sustained and significant contribution to leadership, collaboration and partnership building, positive impact on society, and ethical conduct. Nominees will be evaluated for their excellence in leadership, creativity, innovation, and a positive impact on their field or community. As well as those who serve as a role model for future generations of leaders.
